On 30th November 2025, a thanksgiving service at the PCEA Berea Parish in Kariobangi North, Nairobi for David Warui Wanyoike, who was elected on the DCP (Democracy for the Citizens Party), during the 27th November Ward bi-elections, was disrupted when a large group of youths, clashed leading to some youth being hurt and one sustaining bullet wounds
The police justification to fire live bullets and lobbing teargas canisters is feeble. Though it was within their privilege in dispersing rowdy youths from opposing political formations, their discretion was void. They should have first thought about the Sunday-school children, the worshipers and the sanctity of the holy place of worship.
